Food, Glorious Food!

Last time you ate cereal did you blow bubbles? No? It's pretty fun!
We got the go ahead from the pediatrician to start on some rice cereal. We had our first whack at it Monday night. That attempt consisted of bubbles, spitting and funny faces. By bite 5 or 6 Canyon was getting the hang of opening his mouth for the spoon. He'd swish the cereal around a little and PLOP...spit it right back out.

This was the second attempt. I went for this one on my own...no daddy to help:( This went better...and the starting funny face was AWESOME! The cereal shocked his little taste buds. He did his little swishy spitty move for the first few moves then...

WAAAA LAAA

He swallowed! and again and again and again. The kid was eating like crazy!

This little guy has gotten into a habit or rubbing everything on his face...the messy bib was no exception..this adventure is getting better by the minute!

Yes..That's right..He's four months.

In the last week I've noticed a common trend that was present in our doctor's appointment today.Stranger/bishop/Target coworker/Nurse: What a cute little guy, How old?
Me:Thanks, About 4 months.
Stranger/Bishop/Target Coworker/Nurse: No way...He's so huge...My guess was 6 months...
Now I can see the average Joe thinking that my little man is a little older but when the nurse couldn't keep in how BIG he was I started to chuckle...fortunately Dr. Adams "doesn't worry about body fat on breastfed babies, it's a different kind." Thanks..although I hadn't even asked about it.So, I'm a building the suspension? Do you want to know the specs?

Weight: 15 lbs 10 oz (75th percentile)
and yes that's a little more than twice his birth weight:)
Length: 25 inches (64th percentile)
Head Circumference: 17 inches (80th percentile)
Tummy time has become somewhat of a fun thing in the home and C has successfully rolled over once...a week ago. We can't seem to get him to do it again. He sure loves his daddy!

Congratulations!

Canyon's circles of friends and family are growing by the day! We have lot's of new cousins and friends to play with. Congratulations are in order for the Troy and Deedra Russell family with their new little girl Payton Ann Russell. She's is adorable. Also, my cousin Kelly and her husband Cardon welcomed their son Preston Kempton into their family.

As for friends we have lots! Play dates will have to be plenty in the coming months! Adrienne and Justin Gift had a little girl, Paige and Michelle and Kaulana had their little boy yesterday, Kalakamu Clay! Our friends Bryson and Asley are expecting a little girl any day now and then Brock and Katie will come next. Phew! Spring is in the air.

I guess this is just the stage we're in now...it's crazy!!!

Have you been busy???

We have! This week Zach took his finals, we moved and I started a new job....Whew!

Zach's first final was Monday morning and right after that we signed a new lease and moved into quite the apartment. Thankfully we had a bunch of members of Zach's family come help and boy did we need them. We are blessed to have them. That night we stayed up late unpacking so we could give our boxes to a couple above us...they were moving out on Tuesday:) It was good incentive to just get it all done. Here is our pile...at the beginning.
Tuesday I had orientation at the new job! I'm officially a deli and flour girl at the Orem Super Target. I put in over 25 hours this week. It's been really hard for me to leave my sweet baby but I enjoy the work and I appreciate every second I get to spend at home and with my family that much more. So if you need some deli meats or a quick cake...give us a call!
