Girls!
My cute friend, Rachel Hudson, tried to get all of our old friends together for a night out on the town before I officially grow up. Most of them were busy with work, school and fiances but three of us decided to have a blast without em. Rachel, Ashley and I went to one of our favorites for dinner, Zupas. We caught up with the happenings in eachother's lives and then moved on to the wonderful world of Target. My doc asked that I start walking whenever I can to get this baby out, so we decided to kill a couple of birds with one stone. Rachel got her groceries, I got to walk and we all got to talk:) We had such a fun time and I even allowed a photo to be taken!! brave me I know! Take a good look because soon, very soon that baby won't be in that tummy.

New Do!
A super awesome girl in our branch offered to cut and color my hair before the baby's born. Let's be honest, there's not much about your looks you enjoy during pregnancy and even less you have total control over, but hair is the one thing you do have complete control over. With that in mind I took her up on that offer and she did a fabulous job! It was fun to sit and get to know someone new too.Later, Zach and I went to a Utah Flash Basketball game with some of his friends. The boys talked and caught up while I, being the only female, cheered for the flash. I forgot how much I love to go to sporting events!

Our favorite dessert cafe:)
Zach and I sure love dessert, yes we do. Many a night we have found ourselves driving aimlessly on State St. trying to decide on where to get our sweet tooth satisfied. One day Zach and I came up with an elaborate plan to open dessert cafe that would serve a myriad of desserts like pie slices, ice cream, hot cocoa etc. A month later we really were driving down State Street and saw just that...The Chocolate: A Dessert Cafe. It's mostly a bakery but it offers a variety of desserts as well as the best hazelnut hot cocoa ever! They even make homemade whipped cream that is thick rich and AMAZING!
We stopped but and tested it out right when it opened and loved it. We haven't had a chance to go back till this evening. We went and it was hopping! We were so excited to see they were getting good business and hope it continues. Zach and I give this little dessert cafe 4.5 stars out of 5! Go enjoy the strawberry shortcake..it's our favorite. (it's not actually strawberry shortcake that's just what they call it:) Enjoy it!!

37 Weeks
Had a check up this afternoon and things are going well. I didn't like the numbers on the scale much but hey, I'm prego! Enjoy it while you can huh? We haven't set an official induction date yet, I guess that'll be happening next Wednesday. Next week the doc will be checking to make sure I'm dialated enough to be induced at 39 weeks. Crossing my fingers:) I thought I should include one last set of belly pics. I'll be honest I don't like them all that much but you have to remember the good times somehow. Enjoy!

Car Trouble Anyone?
Ok ok so my car doesn't look like this but really it kind of feels like it does. My new job requires an extra early drive. This morning, upon turning the key in the ignition, my car flat out refused to start. Hmph...I quickly switched cars and left poor, sleeping Zach to enjoy the wonders of a dead, 1998 Honda Accord. Modern Technology...a blessing yes....but a curse as well:) I'll let you know what's wrong with the poor old guy.

Ankles
For the last two days, I have been reminiscing about ankles. To be honest, I didn't think much of my ankles when I had them and now that I don't...it seems like a luxury only movie stars are entitled to. Fortunately for me we are in the midst of a cold winter so most people find it extremely normal to have ankles hidden from view..If only I had a pair of dress boots to help on Sundays. Zach just commented on how I am boring the reader of this post but really, don't you find ankles a fascinating phenomenon. Like thighs, most women hate theirs until something goes a tad awry and Vualah!!! we love what we had. So, a little note to my son-
Dear Canyon,
I waited 20 years to experience this. 20 years to know what it felt like to bond with my unborn child over the course of 9 months. I may not have expected the vomitting, blood clots, injections, emotions, bathroom-clock-ins, heartburn, weight gain or swelling but I also didn't expect that I'd love you so much. I'm going to kick myself for saying this in years to come but thanks. Thank you for letting me eperience all those seemingly debbie-downers because they brought me to you. I now know (hopefully) how to better sympathize when you have a hard time breathing at night from a stuffy nose or to feel a little less sorry for myself when I have to wake up in the middle of thie night to clean up vomit. I guess you've made me a little less selfish. You may still be in the womb but boy howdy you are quite the teacher:)
I will get you for the ankles though:)
Love, your mom!
A little update on what's happening. I'm almost 37 weeks and all is on track to be induced on the 26 of January. Canyon has dropped but at last weeks appointment I wasn't dialated or effaced at all. I'm not on a walking regimen to help seeing as I need to be at least 2cm dialated to be induced. Imagine if he came earlier...

Kickin off the New Year
Today Zach and I kicked off the New Year with friends. Zach went snowboarding with a couple of friends up at Sundance Resort. They boarded all day while the wife of one, Katie, and I made some things for our coming children:) I guess you could say it was our last hoorah before life gets a little more hectic. Next week Zach starts school and I start another job. In three weeks, we'll be welcoming the little guy...so I think it's safe to say, life will be hectic.
I was suprised to hear that Zach was "catching some air" on their snowboarding trip. His pals tried to get some good shots but kept missing some totally awesome air:) So for your information, Zach is not cha-cha ing on his board...He's in the air and staying balanced. I will mention I'm glad he came home in one piece.
Brock, Taylor and Zach at the top of the mountain. Zach sure enjoyed the thrill of the ride:)
Meet the "taggie". This was our mission today and it came out quite nice. I've heard little ones love to play with the ribbons and the soft minky is sure to be a hit. I pretty much just made Canyon his security blankie:) They turned out so cute and I have enough fabric to make another so hopefully that'll happen this week. You may call it nesting..and you're probably right. I mean, 24 days to go...it's about time the nesting kicked in:)
